SOME REPAIRS & IMPROVEMENTS
Recently we rented a knuckle boom lift to take care of some repairs in the sanctuary. We were able to repair the crenellations on the top of the reredos, as well as catalogue and repair the various spotlights and their fuses. Measurements of the statue alcoves and the large elevated cross were also taken in order to facilitate a long-term project of installing curtains that will be used to obscure the statuary during Passiontide.
Above: Tom Scarry navigating the knuckle boom lift into position. Below: The new sideboard in the side chapel for storage of items immediately related to the sacred liturgy.
We also finally received a handmade sideboard, ordered in elements of the sanctuary), and stained to match. We will be installing vertical and horizontal shelving in the left and right cupboards (respectively), to store various altar cards. Feel free to take a look into the side chapel.
