July 4! Believe it: St. Stephen’s is a great place to watch the fireworks! A few years ago, when a severe drought made fireworks illegal outside the city, we invited parishioners to the parish grounds for the evening. Since then, this parish picnic has grown into an impromptu annual event. Bring a quilt or lawn chairs (if you like), some food and beverages! The picnic will take place after the 6 pm Mass; parishioners are welcome to stay as late as they like (within reason!).

Summer Retreat – 2023. “The Transcendent Joy of the Mass of the Ages.” Silent retreat; Father Jacob Hsieh, O.Praem., July 30 – Aug 3. $750 / person. Private room & bath, all meals included. Christ the King Retreat Center. Register: 916-407- 7930, or inquire at St. Stephen’s office or bookstore.

We are finalizing rooms & meal plans, the final date we will take registrations will be Mon, Jul 10.

Pig Roast. Please mark your calendars for Sat, Aug 5! More announcements will be forthcoming. Those looking to volunteer could please reach out to Gloria Santana at 916- 832-2811. We will be signing up volunteers after Sunday Masses on June 18 and 25; please consider helping out – a great way to meet other parishioners!

Rummage Sale (for the Pig Roast). Bring your new, clean, next to new, valuable, or antique items to Classroom 2. Toys, houseware, large baskets, and nice items that you no longer need or want. More expensive items will become prizes for Pig Roast, Chesterton Event or Christmas Party. No clothes, (except new), electronics, furniture, or hard to handle items. Questions?
