Fasting begins (until Nov 6) – PRAYERS & FASTING The California bishops are requesting prayers and fasting leading up to the elections this year. Specifically, they are asking for the faithful to join in a novena to Our Lady of the Rosary from Sept 29 to Oct 7, and for the faithful to engage in some fasting from Sept 28 to Nov 6. Our pastor would encourage fasting on Fridays during this period, at the least, in order to fulfill this praiseworthy request from the bishops of our state. Those that want to do more could fast on Wednesdays and Fridays, or even take on something similar to the Lenten fast.

Chesterton Event (5:30 pm – 9 pm) Join us for entertaining & educational evening. Tickets ($25 per person) will be sold Sundays in the parish courtyard. This year marks the 100th anniversary of G.K. Chesterton’s conversion to the Catholic Faith. Dale Ahlquist will return this year, as well as Chuck Chalberg the dramatist. The topic: Conversion.

All Saints Party: 12 pm – Mass; 1 pm – Lunch; 2:30 pm – Litany of Saints & Parade of Saints; 3:30 pm – Activities; 5:30 pm – Clean-up. The All Saints Party will be accepting donations of candy for the children; also, at the party there will be a pie baking contest. To donate candy or to enter the pie baking contest, please text Megan Gury at 916-207-0498.
