TRASH & RECYCLING
A reminder for anyone bringing trash to the parking lot receptacle, to only put cardboard into the recycling bin. All plastics, glass, etc. should be placed in the larger, garbage bin. For reference, the garbage bin is on the left, the recycling bin on the right. The code for the padlock on the bins is the same as the one for the restrooms.
We get fined pretty heavily every time even a single plastic bag is placed in the recycling bin. I’m almost, but not quite, at the point of just welding the ridiculous thing shut.
THE BROWN SCAPULAR
Sr. Lucia of Fatima: “Most definitely, the Scapular and the Rosary are inseparable. The Scapular is a sign of consecration to Our Lady.”
“Our Lady wants all to wear the Scapular.”
Pope Leo XIII: “The Carmelite Scapular’s nobility of origin, its extraordinary spread among Christian peoples for many centuries, the spiritualizing effects produced by it and the outstanding miracles worked in virtue of it render the Scapular of Carmel commendable to a wondrous degree.”
Pope Benedict XV: “Let all of you have a common language and a common armour: the language, the sentences of the Gospel; the armour, the Scapular of the Virgin of Carmel.”
Pope Pius XI: “I learned to love the Scapular Virgin in the arms of my mother.”
Pope Pius XII: “There is no one who is not aware how greatly a love for the Blessed Virgin Mother of God contributes to the enlivening of the Catholic faith … In the first rank of the most favored of these devotions that of the Holy Carmelite Scapular must be placed.”
“The Scapular is a practice of piety which by its very simplicity is suited to everyone, and has spread widely among the faithful of Christ to their spiritual profit.”
